The History of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church

In a meeting on May 19, 1927, at 1502 Baltimore St. In Midd. Oh., Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church was organized by a group of zealous persons seeking a place where they could worship God in the beauty of holiness.  The first building was a small house in the fourteen hundred block of Baltimore St., which had been vacated by the New Era Baptist Church.

The first Deacons of the church were William Martin, Leslie Holt, Louis Cobb, William Maull, and Reese Myers.  The first trustees were Ben Farris and Charles Adams.  The name of the church was submitted by Mrs. Beatrice Maull, wife of Deacon Maull.
